I feel a bit sad to see the 2 strokers go away but a move like this i think it will bring new tehcnologies and new models in the market of mid sized sportbikes and not only...

Here is something i designed a 4T yamaha 625cc (or 450cc maybe?) Inline 4 M2...

Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows®

Sportbike Customs returns to the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows® presented by Toyota. Last year, you saw individuals take production sportbikes and build them into unique creations of design, paint job, shine and speed. In some cases they used bolt-on parts and in others they custom fabricated their own.
Either way, these are one-of-a-kind bikes that you can't buy in the showroom. But if you come to the International Motorcycle Shows you will be able to see them up close, take your own pictures, talk to the builders and get some ideas of what you can do to customize your own ride.

Best of Show Winner
People's Choice Award Winner — Fort Worth
Owner — Jason Dittfurth
Bike Name — JD's GSX-R

The lucky Best of Show winner will be featured in Powersports Magazine, the official program of the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows® presented by Toyota, so check back frequently to see who's hot from other markets and cast your vote.
Do you have a bike to show? Email Kurt Whittington at kwhittington@advanstar.com. If you qualify, your bike could be showcased in front of tens of thousands of attendees. Who knows... you could become the next People's Choice Award winner.

Streetfighter SVs.

Streetfighter SVs.

Suzuki's SV650 is the tabula rasa of modern motorcycles, the rare bike with the ability to be anything to anyone--sport riders, commuters, racers and even touring riders dig the little 'Zook that could.

Clean, naked styling also makes it prime for customizing, as illustrated here by these two tweaked SVs from Petaluma, California custom house Motomorphic. The blue bike is SV up front and everything else in the rear.

The Motomorphic crew started with a cast-off Honda RC30 swingarm, which, after 20 hours of fabbing, was mated with the SV frame. The rear wheel comes from a Ducati 916, and the crowning feature is the MV Agusta F4 tail section and quad-mufflers. The bike is still in progress--currently under development is a one-off, MV-style carbon-fiber tank and MV upper fairing and headlight, too.

The orange bike, on the other hand, is straight-up streetfighter. This one also features a single-sided swingarm adaptation, this time using Honda VFR parts. The front end is from a '98 GSX-R 750 (with Race- Tech internals), and the SV Fighter also runs an Ohlins shock and SharkSkinz aluminum subframe with solo tail. The motor is mostly stock save for Keihin flat-slide carbs and a Motomorphic-bent exhaust system capped with a pair of SuperTrapp mufflers from a Yamaha YZ426 dirt bike

Yamaha YZF-R15 the 150cc Sportbike

Rumors of Yamaha entering the 150cc range of sport bikes is getting bigger by the day, the new motorcycle would as the story go’s be the Yamaha YZF-R15 a 150cc full fairing motorcycle, with the highest horsepower engine (22hp) in its class at a dry weight of just 120kilo.
If the rumors are correct, then Yamaha will take the crown in the 150cc range from the Honda CBR-150R. The Yamaha YZF-R15 is supposed to be a four-stroke, liquid cooled single cylinder, 4-valve SOHC, 149.8cc engine with oil-cooling and electric fuel injection.
To quote an insiders at Yamaha the Yamaha YZF-R15 would be a real R-series and is packed with Grand Prix technology. The Yamaha YZF-R15 will deliver stunning R-Series styling and exhilarating sports performance. A highly sporty constant mesh, 6-speed transmission system,
with Yamaha own wet sump (Yamalub) lubrication system. The chassis is a high tensile steel deltabox design, familiar to what we seen with the Yamaha YZF-125 and the Yamaha GP250 bike. The rumor of the Yamaha YZF-R15 tells that this radical, high-revving, fuel-injected 150cc is the work of the same engineers who created our YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 supersport bikes and the YZF-R15 is capable to deliver stunning 150cc performance.
